You may only have one account on a given ISP.  If there is no other account on your husband's work laptop computer/ISP, you could probably use it, but you're taking a chance that you will lose your account (and the other person as well) if you do.

You could use his laptop computer if you connect via YOUR ISP.  I use dial-up and could do that, but if you have broadband, you would need to bring the laptop to the place where your broadband connection is.)

When you said your system crashed, I'm assuming the PC crashed, but the ISP is still working.  Hopefully, you have already made arrangements to have it fixed.  Staples has been pretty good about solving my PC woes, but it takes them a couple of days -- and you have to take the PC to them.

Getting a new computer will not be a problem with accessing FC, if you're logging on with your own ISP.

I've changed computers several times in the last couple of years -- no problem accessing FC.  But I've always accessed the internet with the same ISP for each new computer.  And no one with a FC account uses my PC.

People with laptops have accessed the internet with other ISP's as them move around, but whenever they do, they need to be sure that no other FC account is using that ISP.  That's why you shouldn't use community ISP (libraries, PC cafes, etc) since you can't be sure who else is using it and whether they have an account or not.

You can also change ISP's (ie switch from dial-up to broad-band) -- you just have to make sure no one else is using your (new) ISP to access FC.  (For example:  if you moved to a place that had a community wireless system  -- that ISP system would probably not be safe to use.)
