Why God?

Why God?

Everything in nature and science point to a God. Take the Second Law of Thermodynamics. “Energy systems have a tendency to increase their entropy rather than decrease it.” Another word for entropy is disorder. Therefore, we are moving to a decreased energy state or a state of disorder. For this logic to hold true, the original state would not have been a “big bang,” it would have had to be perfect. For the “big bang theory” to hold up, the Second Law of Thermodynamics would be nullified as we would have been evolving from a state of disorder to order. For it to be in perfect order, it would have had to be GOD.

Intricacies in creation point to a Creator. If you found a computer chip on a deserted island you would immediately assume that someone dropped it there. You wouldn’t assume it just evolved or appeared. Intricacies demand a Creator.

Religion is made by man. It’s our response to God. But God isn't about a religion. He is about a relationship. You see, God is perfect in all things. Being perfect, He could not have simply created the world and then disappeared. He is here with us.

The reason that God and eternity weigh so heavily on our minds is because God is pressing the issue. God wants to be known. He created us with the intent that we know Him. He has surrounded us with evidence of Himself and He keeps the question of His existence squarely before us.

“I had a notion that somehow, besides questing, I was being pursued."

– Malcolm Muggeridge

“…night after night, I felt the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly desired not to meet."

– CS Lewis
