Any ladies out there use Mirena? I recently had this inserted and I was wondering how it's been for others, any issues etc.

It's an intrauterine contraceptive.  I just had my first child, no insurance but state insurance for 60 days after birth so it was easiest to have this inserted as it can last up to 5 years.

I have watched the ad on TV and IUD sounds very dangerous especially when they say it can possibly puncture the wall of the female sex.   They also talk about some other dangerous things that could happen.  I don't think its worth putting your life in jeopardy.

Yea I've seen the commercial too but financially I couldn't afford to pay $30/m for the pill, $100 quarterly for depo etc.  I've had a few friends use it, one went on a trip the day after insertion and the altitude change affected it, another had it for quite some time then became pregnant so their experiences have been wayyy different then what their ad says hehe
