Most of the silly laws are either the legislating of morality taken too far or something political in nature, meaning they are trying to create a law to catch or harass someone (or a company) they don't like... Sometimes being a combination of both. For example, the owning of more than 6 dildos is prob'ly to try to shut down some sex-toy store, singing in a bathing suit against some cabaret-type of show, doing a pocupine is against some-- actually I can't think of why they'd have to make that one!

Here is one that will get a laugh outta you, In Palm Springs California it is against the law to ride a camel on a public street after 4 P.M. (I don't know about you but I like to ride my camel in the mornings)(LOL)

There must have been some incident that brought about legislative response, which may be outdated, but there may have been a purpose at some point.  My hometown has a statute that makes spitting on a sidewalk punishable by a year in prison and a fine (circa 1900 but never repealed)
