My cat's do not sweat. Why? Do dogs?

cats sweat through their paws. A frightened cat may even leave a trail of wet footprints on the ground. However, because paws have too small a surface area to do much cooling, cats have developed additional strategies for coping with heat.

For example, they seek out shady spots and try not to exert themselves. Also, like dogs, cats like to sprawl out on cool surfaces in a way that maximizes coolness and minimizes heat.

As for those frequent baths your cat is taking, they work in the same way that sweating does. When the saliva evaporates off fur, it lowers body temperature.       dogs pant

No, that is why they pant. It cools them.

I think both do, but you can't see it becasue of the hair

No they don't.  There are other animals that sweat, though-like pigs and horses-but not dogs or cats.

Thank all of you for your answers!  It has been so hot and I have sweat dripping off of me and my cats don't! I do put the central air on! Have to because it has been a hot summer here in Pennsylvania! But when winter comes, I'll be missing this heat!
