whats your opinion of Ebay do u think its become to all powerful and onsided for the buyers vs sellers

I used to use Ebay a bunch, but not now.  Half of the stuff I received never matched the picture/description.  You can return it, but wait forever for a refund.  Ebay is not the big power merchandise option it once was.  I think people are sick of getting ripped off.  There are a lot of sellers on Ebay that are not honest.  Too bad because there are a few that are.  Always bookmark those that gave you a good honest deal.....and service.  Buying anything from a picture or description is okay, but their return/refund policy is to slooooooow.  If I bought something from a catalog, the turnaround time for a refund is much better, plus they provide a return form to put in/or on the package.  They also return your shipping charges.  Ebay sellers VERY rarely do this.  Also, many times the merchandise plus the shipping and handling is way more than if you went out and bought the item new somewhere.  I like to use Ebay for those hard to find items that I can't find anywhere else.

Here's what I like about ebay

1. You can bid and sometimes get a great deal
2. You can buy it now if you choose not to bid
3. eBay allows you to earn a few extra bucks if you have a product to sell
4. eBay is pretty easy to use if your computer literate
5. eBay has live tech support, and a contact number to speak with a help agent if help is needed.

Things I dislike about eBay

1. Bidding wars
2. Dealing with angry unreasonable sellers and buyers
3. Slow delivery
4. Expansive listing and picture fee's
5. Risking receiving crappy items or not receiving items at all. 

That pretty much somes up my opinion of eBay there are pro's but lets not forget those cons.

It looks to me there are more cons than pros for small-time customers. If you're into the big-business then I guess it's worth it. But for us average citizens, we'd have to tread caution when ebaying.

Ebay, like Google, has gone downhill in service since it became popular.
They've become less oriented towards their opening service and more directed towards making and easy buck and screwing up whatever they can in a bureaucracy.
