I feel for you, my baby sister N law is just like what you are describing. What scared the *bleep* out of her and still works, You as a parent really have to be committed to this (YOU ARE NOT GIVING UP) Go to the local DHS or a reliable resource center. Find out all the information you can on host homes, boot camps, ect. Pamphlets really help. Make sure your child understands that this will happen, being sent away if she does not follow the rules you as her parent have set at the grounds of her own good. Now im not saying this will work for everyone but my baby sis straightened up with the sneaking out, ditching school, and lying constantly about alcohol abuse. I'm not saying shes perfect now either she still has her moments but she has really started to turn over a new leave with her school grades, home life & respect. Good luck to you!! IDK what im going to do when my girls are teenagers!!! Its scary as you just don't know what you should do what is right what the child is thinking or not thinking.

Wow that's a good question. I don't remember acting out like a lot of kids do these days.  I think kids mostly teenagers now days know that they can't be punished for hardly anything because the law doesn't allow us to punish or discipline our children, and so now we have out of control children that are commiting outrageous crimes. I don't know that I would ever do this,  but a mom in our town had her son picked up by the local sheriff and taken to a local detention hall for minors also know as "juvi" and had them lock him in there for a couple days, and made him go thru the motions of being detained.  They then took him and the other kids detained to a regular county jail to see older criminals and see what it be like in a county jail and they thn talked to inmates that had already been in a prison and tell them what lift was like in a prison.  They then stood him in front of a judge and the judge explained to him what would happen to him if he continued to sneek out and continue to do the things he had been caught doing around town.  He told him the small things he was doing would eventually turn into bigger things and the punishments would be worse.  He has since stopped sneaking out he's not vandalizing or stealing yard decorations anymore. He will and does tell other kids in our town and surrounding towns what he saw and went thru in the detention center and said that he hopes he never goes thru or has to deal with anything like that again. Good idea or bad?  Im not sure but it worked for them,  I guess when things start to get really bad tough love has to be applied.

It's not just girls (although consequences are more serious for them), but teenagers in many homes. When I was one I spent two weeks in juvenile hall for "Beyond Parental Control" myself.

I agree with the main thoughts in this thread too-some sort of boot camp or place she can go to learn that that crap won't be tolerated!  Then if she comes home and starts doing it again, send her back.  She needs to learn that actions have consequences and that those consequences get WORSE when the normal kinds of consequences aren't working.
