Has anyone been to a sleep clinic?  What was your experience?

No, sorry, but I would love to try it.  I need the rest.  They have one in Durham N.C.  I think most major cities and near Medical Schools.

Went to one a couple a years ago.  Wasn't bad- they hook a ton of wires up to you, and you (try) to get to sleep.  I woke up a lot, just from being in a weird place and having wires all over me.

sleep clinic doesn't necessarily mean "sleep study" right?I have had a sleep study (with the wires where you 'try' to sleep like the previous post mentioned' - most hospitals have sleep study labs -- this is often for people with sleep apnea/snoring/etc that may need medical intervention

I came home from one today.  I am a chronic insomniac and I do paid sleep studies .  I get paid real well but I find the sleep lab exhausting (no pun intended).  I find the sleep lab difficult and challenging.  I get very little sleep but the money is great.

Yes, sleep study is what I meant.  My doctor thinks I need one.

Thank you for your reply.  That sounds like what I am going to have done.  Although I have to have an evaluation done first to see if they agree with my primary's diagnosis.
