Is it just me, or do other people feel its kinda ridiculous how easy football player's helmets come off?? I can't believe there's not more injuries (considering I played football once!)

New helmets. They have come up with some new design that is supposed to help with reducing the shock to the head from all the collisions. Problem is they seem to come flying off too easily which defeats the purpose when you end up taking hits with no helmet because its lying somewhere behind you.

I was thinking more of the fact that the players don't always strap their helmets in...I'm sure helmets are getting safer, but indeed, what's the point of wearing a helmet if you're not going to tighten it?

Tightened or not, I don't think you realize the amount of force coming from a linebacker or any other player on the field when they come in contact with another player. They hit harder than hard. Most tackles would knock the wind out of someone without any protection, or worse. The straps can easily become undone when the right amount of force is applied, much like how you can pull a ziptie apart going AGAINST the teeth if you use enough force.

wouldn't this be the same principle for other helmets, such as for bikes?
