ADVICE NEEDED on kids and gifts!!!

Hello, my Youngest nephew is turning 4 very soon!  Its pretty exciting, but i am dissappointed by my gift.   I bought him a few disney movies, used.  They have no cable or anything like that so thats why i picked movies.  Also i did get him his favorite characters, and ones that i felt he would like.

Also i got him a v-smile game, used also. In his favorite all time movie star BUZZ LIGHTYEAR

I am embarassed.......is it ok to gift used items, especially for birthday?  I do not have much money, and i did my best, getting what i could.  they are not used above and beyond...Just the average small wear on movie case corners (i played all 3 movies and there is no skipping etc.)

Can i have your thoughts on if these are good for gifting?  I think my nephew will be thrilled to get a new game and movies, especially in characters that he has been following and playing with.  But how will other adults feel?  Is it wrong for me to give him used items for birthday?

it is the thought that counts. if he will like them than that is great..... he's still little enough to not have opinions on that for himselves.

I don't understand why it wouldn't be accepted and appreciated.  It's the thought that counts and the time you put into thinking about what he would like.

I think the adults will have mixed reactions. I wouldn't doubt some would think it was wrong. I think it is just fine. If your nephew likes the gifts, that is all that matters. Don't let the ones who think it is wrong bother you. It really is the thought that counts.

The person that is troubled by a used gift is the same person that is troubled by a new gift that they deem too inexpensive. You have done a good thing; therefore, be content with that knowledge and not concerned with whether others will be petty about your deeds. Kudos to you.
