My SO and I always share a meal on the menu when we go out. It's less expensive and you always get plenty to eat because of the gigantic portions they serve to people now. RU Kidding?  ::) No wonder we're all so fat.

Depends on the restaurant I guess. If they know you come all the time, then they give you more or extra.

Nah, we do it everywhere we go. The only time we had a problem was at a posh restaurant near the St. Louis airport. The waiter was a real bad dude (originally said d-i-c-k but thought better of it since I'm a nice girl AND it got censored by our prudish censors here on FC) about it and charged us extra.

Kudos if you could read that last sentence and make sense of it. :highfive:

Re-use zip lock bags unless used with raw meat, all clothes from secondhand stores or at least clearance sales at Kohls, hang clothes on a clothesline outside so I'm not using the dryer. Lots of store brand foods. cheap trac phone.  Most basic TV channels.

I reuse ZipLoc bags after raw meat. I wash them out with anti-bacterial Dawn or in the dishwasher. I tried to get hubs to put posts in so I could air dry my clothes outside but said he couldn't did into the shale so he got 4 pulleys and set up wash lines on the porch. ...but now that I can't get out there so well, I guess that's okay.  I bought a couple bottles of Soft Soap when it was on sale for $1 bottle and when it got halfway empty, added water. Then when it got halfway empty, added water again. Still have some after two years. I do wash once a month (only 2 of us). Whatever is left to wash waits for the next month (we have lots of clothes left from working). I still wear clothes from the '80s. I did make a partial mistake when I bought 2 lounging outfits for $9 each. Tops weren't finished at the neck which were too wide, body too short, arms too long, and waist too wide. So using tops as rags and using other tops that somewhat match the colors in the bottoms.  I used to use plastic grocery bags from the store as garbage bags and in waste baskets. I do more cheapo stuff automatically, but it's such a habit i can't remember them.

I sew up holes in socks and underwear; God help me. I will also repair shoes, if at all possible. But that can be kind of tough sometimes.  ::)

I used to mow my own grass all the time and will again when I get my own yard. Of course, I did have the best lawn mower that was ever made so that made it easy.

I use rags for spills and then wash for next time.  That seems more economical to me than using paper towels, not that I don't use paper towels, but only judiciously.

I save bacon grease for frying food. When I get too much, we burn it in the burning barrel.

I wash my hair one time, rinse one time and then towel dry and let it dry naturally. Then I make pin curls unless I'm in a hurry.

How are we doin'?

Okay; I not only fix holes in shirts and socks, but I also repair holes in shoes.

Yes, I do buttons and repair hems. If the garment is fixable, I will fix it.
