What scar has the most interesting story to tell?
« on: December 31, 2020, 11:45:03 am »
What's the story behind your scars?

Some years ago my bf and I lived in Hawaii at the time we were riding our bikes one night headed home. I was in a crosswalk and I had the right of way.  I was hit by a drunk driver.  The car hit my bike and knocked me off. I got road rash on my leg that's still there.  I thought about getting a tattoo to cover it but it's not that bad now.  The driver that hit me was in the Army and I had to go to court and testify.  I don't know what happened to him if he was kicked out the Army or what.

Many interesting ones in my 50 years (splitting head open as a 6 year old jumping on the basement steps - and I didn't account for the metal beam across the ceiling at the bottom of the steps; opening up fingers - one by shattering a ceiling light fixture while demonstrating at home a game winning hook shot I made that day in gym class, another by using a razor blade the wrong way trying to remove a stubborn stick on label; a gut scar from a laparoscopic gall bladder surgery that went full incision after they got inside and found what they found)... but my most interesting/most noticeable is also a road rash bike accident scar on my shoulder which took the brunt of the fall when I came over the handlebars. No drunk driver in my case - just my own stupidity and carelessness (which actually defines all of my scars I mentioned above other than the surgical one).

First off,im glad you werent seriously hurt or killed.

You make no mention of being compensated for it.Nowadays lawyers would be drooling.

Too many to mention.  All due to different types of surgery’s over the years.

I only have two small scars, I think, and the stories aren't that interesting. Lol

One is on my forearm that has nearly faded away completely. When I was a little kid, I tried ironing my doll's dress and burned my arm in the process. Mom didn't know I was playing with the iron, so thankfully it wasn't worse.

The other is a half inch scar on the side of my calf. When I was probably around 12 or 13, I was wrestling with a boy at the park and somehow got a piece of broken glass stuck in my leg. It eventually worked its way out, but I still have the reminder.

  Birth marks are really interesting:
    -Burns
-Deformities that can be corrected with medical treatments
    -And many more

I was 8 yrs old when I was hit by a car/truck! I went straight in the middle of the car! My mid elbows were scarred, sides my knees was badly scared! The scars on my elbows are still there but very faded. The left knee was a very large scar & very faded now. I remember being very embarrassed about it as a kid. One time I put one of those fake tattoo on it. It was dragon curled around a blood red rose. Some ppl thought it was a real tattoo asking me where I got it done. Lol! They didn’t believe me when I told them it was a fake tattoo.Today, you can barely see that rose shaped scar.

Thanks.  Yes I did get some insurance money that covered hospital and my injury.  Road rash was a couple of thousand.

The most interesting would be the scar on my left hand in between on my first two knuckles which I got from accidently cutting myself with a grinder when I was working on a boat in the sun.

I have a scar on my thumb from when I was very young it is shaped kind of like an anchor.  I tried to get a band-aide for my doll and climbed up on the sink and leaned on a straight razor that fell our of the medicine cabinet.  I also have a scar that is down the whole length of my back from 3 scoliosis surgeries

My mom and I had similar scars on our shins. We hurt it the same way: on a slide.
