The full moon will rise in the east after sunset on Thursday, Jan. 28, and will glow all night long, as long as cloudy conditions do not obscure the sky.

Some weather-related nicknames for January’s full moon include the Freeze Moon, the Frost Exploding Moon and the Cold Moon, the Old Farmer’s Almanac added.

Fitting considering there's a snowstorm coming up this way this weekend!

When we were walking last night, I commented to my husband on how beautiful the moon was.  It was huge and absolutely gorgeous, a glowing golden color! I didn't know it had a name!

Interesting.  I have not taken time to pay attention to the moon but will go out now to check it out.
