New Washer/Dryer

We are due for a new washer, dryer, dishwasher and possibly stove. I have ordered a new bake heating element (the bottom coil) for the oven even though the current one is less than two years old and the current one does not appear to have any damage. If the new coil does not work I will cut the current connecting wires and reattach the female clamps with hopes  that the fresh wire will do the job. Our dishwasher does an awful job and I have taken to hand washing the dishes while my wife still has faith in the old dishwasher. The washer and dryer are about twelve years old, missing a dryer vent cover, and the washer is missing a rinse cycle button. I am figuring that the washer and dryer can be purchased for about nine hundred dollars, dishwasher for five hundred dollars and a new stove will probably be about six hundred dllars with installation.

It has been awhile since I have purchased a washer and dryer.  I had mine for several years so when I sold my house I left the washer and dryer.  I'm waiting on an apartment now and when I get the apartment I will be buying a new washer and dryer.

I bought a new washer and dryer about 4 years ago.  I bought Maytag, and replace Maytag washer and dryer which were about 20 years old.  Mine does not have an agitator so I can wash big items in it.  The only thing I hate is you can’t stop the washer easy once it’s on.  My old one all I had to do was open the lid.  On this one it locks and you have to hit a button for 3 seconds and it will stop but it still takes about 5 minutes until you can open the lid.

lol Well I know someone who did not know that trick.  They kicked the breaker to get it to stop. I don't like the locking lids. Mine does not lock. You do know why they started doing that don't you? Some kid drowned in a washing machine. I am not sure how that is even possible as it was a pretty good sized kid.  IT was a few years ago.

No, I had no idea why they did that.  It's kind of hard to believe but I guess it could happen my question was where was the mother?

I have a Kenmore top loader with agitator and it's doing a great job.  I don't feel the repaid cost is worth it either.  Hope you find a great deal and the washer and dryer that works for you.

I had a Maytag suds saver that was close to 50 years old  suds saver broke but worked well otherwise then I bought a GE when I moved and gave the Maytag to my daughter 3 years ago and it's still working for her family of 5

I replaced that washer and dryer a few years back, the dishwasher I am on my 3 one on 20+ years.  Stove I had to replace about 3 years ago at the same time as my latest dishwasher, the GE that came when I bought my new house 20 + years ago, the oven stopped working first then the burners (gas) would need to be on high to cook and my smoke detectors would start bursting, so I replaced it with a 5 burners Samsung, I like the 5 burners but hate the Samsung, it is really hard to keep clean, no matter what I do it always looks dirty.  I just replaced my refrigerator in February for an French doors LG with Freezer on bottom and a middle drawer for snacks/deli/wine.  I love it.

I would like to have a new washer and dryer but mine still work so I will keep using it until it doesn't

Well three years ago my new house came with all new black Fridgedaire appliances including a front loading washer and dryer both of which I have had some difficulty with but nothing that required expensive repairs  - I did have to buy a part for my dishwasher the thing that spins in the bottom as it apparently got stuck and melted part of it but it was easy for my son to install.  I ordered it online.  Now back to the washer and dryer - my dryer takes FOREVER to dry clothes so I don't know what to suggest.  I would get top loading next time I purchase but have no idea what brand.  Sorry I couldn't be more help

I always wanted one and even considered buying one for my parents but they refused and said its a waste of water lol. My sister on the other hand loves her Samsung one.
