Local t.v. and school
« on: April 14, 2020, 09:21:44 am »
Our local t.v. station is airing live school on a t.v. channel.  Well that is to say certain grades come on at certain times and they have a teacher that goes through the actual teaching.  It's a great idea.  I think it's a bit boring.  I am making the kids at least sit and listen to it.  Who knows maybe in a few weeks they will actually pay attention to it.  My granddaughter has online class that she checks into everyday.  It's the youngest that I want to pay attention.  He is only 2. I still keep missing the preschool classes.

ONe good thing that has come from this virus is the extended use of technology.  I have one set of grandkids who have regular classes on line and meet regularly with their teacher on a regular basis.  Then I have another grandchild whose school sends a packet to the parents for them to teach.  Not using the internet at all.  I was disappointed to hear that.

I forgot that my 2 year old has something like that also.  Just little activities to do with him.  His mom is supposed to be recording these so that the people that work with his development can see how he is doing.  Well that hasn't happened.  Sorry to say.

This is great because a lot of poor children don't have computers or internet access to do their work.

I agree! This is actually not a bad idea.  :star:
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

This is great because a lot of poor children don't have computers or internet access to do their work.

Spectrum has been giving free internet to those who have school age children & in college so they can access their courses.  Of course that doesn't help those without computers, but even those free Obama phones can be used to access the internet & they even have increased the amount of free monthly internet they can access.

School Package pick up should be optional on top of internet, because of the social distancing policies & the virus being transferred on the package I would think it is not ideal. Then they turn in the work & possibly continue to spread that virus.
