I did a bad job of "minding my business" yesterday  I totally forgot to do my paid email! Thought about after midnight when I was about to fall asleep, haha! Needless to say, it didn't get done, and that's probably only the 1st or maybe 2nd time ever I've forgotten to do it, so I guess I don't need to explain where I'm off to now!! 

Nope, no explanation needed.  I know just how you feel, it's happened to me a couple of times as well.  As long as it's the exception and not the rule, you'll be fine. 

I've been nursing a bad cold so I haven't been minding my business at all over the last couple of days.    I have been minding my cold instead.  Little by little I'm getting back into the flow of things.

Wow, that's kind of a rude comment. Actually, I DO consider my online "paid to" sites to be a part time business. Any way a person can earn money IS a business, as long as it's legit anyhow. I have a regular part time job and a part time business at home also, along with my FC and other ways online that I earn money. However, I bet there are some people that actually do rely on the money made by doing surveys online as their "business" and without that income would be a little further in debt.

So then you have a business license and you turn in all your earnings from your "online business" and pay taxes...right?  Yeah, I didn't think so.

However, I bet there are some people that actually do rely on the money made by doing surveys online as their "business" and without that income would be a little further in debt.

I believe that too.  It's really not the dollar amount that determines whether the activity is a business or not.  I remember a while back when I was attending a group meeting for  a multi level marketing company.  The company is very legitimate and has been so for many years. 

Anyhow, one of the first things the business coaches stressed is that once you sign up as a member, you are to consider yourself in business.  It's a mind set more than anything else at this point.  If you only consider what you do a hobby then you most likely have that mindset and probably won't take it very far. 

I also agree with you that there are those who count on every single bit of cash they can honestly earn.  I've seen too many posts on various forums, not just here on Fusion Cash but others where members are not only relying on but are happy with whatever they can earn from the site. 

If it is a business then you need a business license and should be paying taxes on every penny you earn.  Obviously people need what ever money they make how ever they make it.  I just get tired of hearing people say "oh I work from home" or now this "I run my own business" when all they are doing is taking surveys online.  That is not running your own business nor is it "working from home".  I guess you could consider it working from home but that is a huge stretch and you are getting money to pay the bills else where.  Nobody is making a full time income taking surveys.

Lol, I never said I was making  a full time income from it, heck, I don't even make a full time income from my 3 days a week day job! But between the 3 totally different things that I do to make money, I'm doing just fine and am happy with all of my "businesses".  I had no idea you were such an authority on apparently everything countrygirl. Yes, I agree, a "business" is NOT defined by how much is made. I don't make enough in a year's time normally to pay taxes on, except for my outside job. If I do make enough anywhere else, I DO pay taxes. As it should be.

I may be wrong but I always heard anything under $800.00 per year does not have to be counted as SE income, and since you get a 1099 at $600 per year,  this could have changed over the years.  I never had to worry, never made that much until this year!

lol Do you feel better now?  I did not berate anyone.  I made a comment.  Did not know you were too tender to hear a view that differed from your own.  If you feel like a big shot telling people you own your own business then go for it.  But doing surveys is not a job nor is it owning your own business.  And FYI you are doing the exact same time you accuse me of.  Pretty funny.

You are wrong.  You are "suppose" to report ANY income that you have.  I don't know what SE income is. But at $600 you will get a 1099 from the company.  Technically you are suppose to turn in if you get $20 for dog sitting or mowing your neighbor's yard. Nobody does but technically you are suppose to turn it in.

Yes I haven't been mindful of minding my own business very much either and because I didn't really pay attention to all the earning potential the site has available I lost out on income because I failed to cashout in six months time and I lost over $5 of my hard earned money because i failed to see that i could have cashed out but i keep over looking the same job every day. Thanks for this very excellent post. I am going to try to be more mindful and get back to receiving my cashout every month like I used too do.

You are wrong.  You are "suppose" to report ANY income that you have.  I don't know what SE income is. I do all mine online.  All self employed income is suppose to be turned in.  ALL.  Probably not a lot who actually do.  People seem to be really confused when it comes to taxes.  I had somebody tell me the other day if you make less than $10,000 you do not have to turn it in.  Yes, you do.  When the employer turns it in and you do not then you will get caught.

You're very welcome.  I'm sure it happens to most of us.  These reminders are intended, not only for other members but for myself as well. 

Thankfully we have the time to recoup some of our lost earnings.  Actually, I should start to mind my business a little closer so that I can cash out every month like you.  With everything else I have going on, I'm usually every other month or so.
