The Invitation

Have you ever been invited somewhere you didn't want to go to? In the invite it states, please RSVP. How would you handle this?  Just curious..

It's funny you should mention this! Recently my family and I were invited by my brother to my dad's surprise 70th birthday party, an idea my brother's wife came up with. I was very excited and, of course, said yes, we would attend. After I told my husband and sons about it, they really started grousing about having to go, but they insisted we had to go because it was for my dad. By the weekend of the party, I was ready to call my brother and beg off from coming. But we went ahead and went, and it turns out there were over 30 people there, much to my husband's and sons' unpleasant surprise. Long story short, my dad was thoroughly surprised and delighted by the surprise, I had a great time catching up with people I hadn't seen in a while, and my husband and sons were miserable the whole time as they detest crowds!
