You need to do research in YOUR state.  The rules are different in every state.

Home schooling has produced some intellectual superstars in out community but the large percentage have lacked socialization skills. I recall driving my daughter to high school for band practice in the summer before her first year. I saw a large kid jumping up and down with both hands flopping in complete synchronization. I asked my daughter if the band was taking on special needs/education children and she indicated that this child was up for a national scholarship due to astronomically high college entrance test scores, spoke four languages, and had been given summer school scholarships to Juliard. My daughter also stated that he had absolutely no social skills, had never been around people other than his  family and was on anti depressants due to his lack of ability in communicating at levels close to those of his peers.

I think that home schooling has it's advantages and disadvantages. My thoughts on the matter is weather it is good for the well being of the child. They have little or no social interaction with other kids thier age, and that can be unhealthy for everyone ....

How is the homeschooling going for you now?

Ohio just announced today that schools will remain closed through the end of this school year and the start of the new year in the fall of 2020 is not a sure thing.

It is very difficult to have a 10,7,5,4 and in other room, 15 years old and a 17-year-old who comes up on the weekends for homeschooling every time we think we are getting something going the board of ed starts a new program or new requirements we must follow, this week its something called apex

   Talk to different school counselors.
   Get different opinions, methods, ideas.

I saw that you initially posted back in January, so hopefully home schooling is going better for you right now. I struggled with home schooling initially when it started for me back in the middle of March, but in the past 2 weeks or so the school has begun to instill more structure into the daily routines since thee lockdown seems like it will last much longer than initially expected.

I am surviving the hardest part is I used to get to play games and have fun with them all so now I have to be authority so we have decided to take turns and pick which class we do first and what we do for break everyone gets a vote, however with the new programs coming down this week going to be some more adjustments

Here's a blog that addresses Homeschooling in a different way,  free tools and downloads, they also have paid materials.

This country needs our teachers to get involved with homeschooling and I found several business opportunities on this search for them to do just that! And the out of work teachers could be doing this year round not just summer or "Stay at home" schedules which is a paycheck!

These look like they will restart your day in this stay at home time:

Quote:

To take the guesswork out of homeschool writing, Time4Writing has created a free, downloadable homeschool writing planner for the school year. This printable pdf outlines our recommended path of online writing courses and instruction for elementary, middle, and high school level homeschoolers.

Even better, Time4Writing’s homeschool writing curriculum is led by certified teachers who handle all the lessons, assessments, assignments, and feedback. That means you get all the expertise of a writing teacher with none of the stress of lesson planning or grading. If you look over the plan below and still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

This is all on the blog (I get no compensation for these links)
