My kids don't start until after Labor Day- but there are so many states that already have!!

The Walmart in our area donates school supplies to a lot of different groups, they get the stuff in boxes and do not have to take off of the shelves.  But at most Walmarts if you wait a few minutes they will have the items restocked any way.

I go back to college on the 27th, I only go on Tuesdays, it starts the 26th for everyone else.

I have pretty much everything I need (my mom and I both kind of stock-pile in stationary products  ), just need another 5-subject journal. Have one subject left in my current one. Lol.

When I was a kid that is when we started.  Right around Labor day.  Usually a couple days before then had a long weekend then started full time.  Now they seem to start the first of August.

I think that it is silly to go back to school before the three day Labor Day Weekend. They go back to school just to have a day off? My daughter graduated in May and just got back from a summer of teaching in Connecticut but started her real job last week. My son starts school next week but picked up a restaurant job that required him to work a few shifts this week. We went out on Sunday as the three of us probably won't be in the same room until Thanksgiving. My wife usually makes it home from vacations, tennis work, at nine in the evening just in time for her to go to bed. Kind of leaves me a little bummed out-thought I had prepared for the empty house. I have tarted a third job that takes me out of the house about thirty hours a week which helps. The kids are in state so I may try and go up to visit each one every month and take them out for a nice dinner.

I'm already done with school but my little nieces are sad that they have to go back and wake up early now.

Most of the schools districts closest to me are going back this week.  I remember when I was in school we always went back the Tuesday after Labor Day every year.

I live in MN.  They start here the day after Labor Day.  My daughter started college Aug 26.

LoL! I think the parents world wide are rejoicing! I recall songs that represent back to school for kids celebration for parents. Back to life, back to reality back to the here & now......... It's the most wonderful time of the year......

My child is in a charter school. Not much shopping to be done since most of his classes are online.

This time of year is kind of a mixed bag for me. I love that autumn is almost here with its crisp air and cooler temps (and lower humidity), but I miss my boys when they go back to college for the school year (started back in the middle of August here in Georgia).
