Do you go to movie theaters?  I don't.  They are to expensive and basically not fun.  I have analog t.v. I used to have a collection of vhs or dvd's  Just don't have the devices to run them on anymore since streaming became the new format.  Now it's bad enough when you make a purchase on line for an old movie to rent or to own.  The problem with owning online is if for some reason you no longer get that service you don't have access to the movies you bought.

The other day I was walking my grandkid around down town.  Walked by the movie theater.  Seen the billboard sign and had to step back and really look at it.  Yes the movie is almost 20 years old.  It's not a remake of any kind.  Nothing new or more special about it.  I have the dvd and online.  What the heck?  I thought movie theaters were for new releases.   Are they going to charge the full admition price for this movie?   :confused1:  I really hope this is the Saturday matinee movie. Even then I think they charge to much for the matinee.

The trend now seems to re-release movies in theatres that are celebrating a milestone. I know the Matrix will be in the theatres again to celebrate 20 years I believe. I know one old movie theatre around me that has a special showing of an older movie every Saturday afternoon.

I go to the movies once every few months if a movie I'm interested in comes out. I try to go on Tuesday because AMC has $5/6 tickets those days.

I like going to the movies. And there are lots of deals you can find to go cheaper. I would be sad if real theaters weren't available anymore. The big screen is exciting.  :star:

We visited one in an old mall down in Tulsa, Oklahoma that was just magnificent. Giant stairways and elaborate lighting. Beautiful luxurious bathrooms. I don't know how much longer it can last but it was a real treat.  8)

I LOVE going to the movies! Everything's better on the big screen. There are several theaters in my area that play both new releases and older movies. There's an old theater near me that was built in the 1920s. They play new releases on the weekends and classic movies on weekday evenings. It's a gorgeous theater with chandeliers, velvet curtains, and a piano in the lobby. It still has a Wurlitzer organ, and for a lot of the shows, someone plays a few songs before the movie starts. The last time I was there, I saw a film noir from the 1940s. It was $10/ticket and well worth it, even though I have the dvd at home. I'm so happy it's still there and not torn down to put up a stupid condo or outlet store.
