Cover Songs
« on: June 01, 2019, 12:23:06 pm »
I love listening to cover songs, because it's fun to hear different interpretations of the original. One of my favorites that I think is better than the original: Johnny Cash - "Hurt" (original by Nine Inch Nails). It gives me goosebumps. https://youtu.be/vt1Pwfnh5pc

I love to discover new music, and cover songs help you discover two for the price of one. :)

Do you have any favorite cover songs?

I like listening to cover songs by bands like five finger death punch, disturbed, etc. I am a metal head and I enjoy the cover songs that are remade into a heavy song.

I don't listen to metal very often, but I like when cover songs cross genres. Do you have any recommendations?

Cats In The Cradle by Ricky Skaggs.  This is an excellent cover.  One of my favorites. This cover is in the country genre.

Right now my favorite is these guys, they do some great covers, in a very unusual way. My favorite is "Have you ever seen the rain" by CCR

I'm not familiar with cover songs.

Cover songs are just songs that are remade by an artist other than the original artist.

I'm not a Whitney Houston fan, but that's definitely a great cover. I haven't heard the original in ages. I'll have to take another listen.

My husband loves that guy! I had never heard of him until a few months ago when my husband played this song. Now it seems like it's popping up everywhere. So sad that he died so young.

I loved his version as well. I think his voice is very soothing and just right for this song with the pleasant ukelele sound as he plays. It's very touching and i think it would have been interesting to hear him make an entire album on his own. He puts a great spin on a classic song.

My favorite cover though is still Whitney Houston's version of Dolly Parton's I will always love you in the bodyguard soundtrack. With all due respect to Dolly as the originator of that song I just feel like Houston's voice is so much better and makes the song even greater.
