House Furniture
« on: May 05, 2019, 06:39:59 am »
If you had to pick one piece of furniture you would most like to replace in your house, what is it and why?  For me, it would be my bedroom furniture.  If I could, I would sell it and pick pieces that are not nearly as heavy and cumbersome.  I wouldn't have to replace it because it is worn and not nice.  It is actually about 15 years old but you would never know it.  It is in excellent condition. But there is no way I can move any of it myself, and I would need 2, maybe 3, moving men to budge it. I would also never get the money out of it that it is worth so I'm not about to sell it.

I would replace our piano. We bought it second hand and it serves it's purpose but I would go a piano that was a little bigger, had a better name/history, we bought the piano from a piano broker and it was great as the kids were taking piano lessons for roughly six years. Now it gets played every other month. Generally guests will play or my wife might hire a player for a social gathering. I think that those numbers make it worthwhile keeping around even with the yearly maintenance fee and extra dusting required. I would really prefer to re-model my study: add french doors, build a patio, rip out the carpeting and put in wood floors, take out the transom and add two fifteen foot french doors, and add more outlets, re-paint and add some funky art.

It would be my mattress.  When I tested it out at the store it felt so comfortable but now after just about a year of uses it is so uncomfortable.

I have a rocker with a matching ottoman in my living room that needs to go & be replaced, but I hold off because I have other things I need to do & buy before I consider it.

I don't know what one piece I would pick because most of them could use replacing.  Most of our furniture was my spouses parents stuff that we "inherited" when we got married (so they're probably at least 50 years old).

Oh! I do not like house furniture because some are very ugly, uncomfortable and
are made of highly flammable materials. I prefer to be outdoors at the park and enjoy
all that nature has to offer.

We just bought a new couch and chair for the living room and a new mattress last summer, so the only thing we need now is a new tv. We got a free tv when we rented a house five years. The problem is it's plasma, so it flickers all the time and getting worse. It's so annoying.

My view of furniture is if it holds my rear end up off the floor it's good enough for me. I did just sell my 32 inch Plasma TV and get a 55 inch LED UHD Smart TV that has been really nice during the NBA Playoff.

I would remove/replace bedroom furniture in another bedroom.  I hate it.
