Editing Categories for Forums

Is there a way to switch the category for a forum? I started a discussion under Offers when I meant to start that discussion under Off-Topic.

I am not aware of a way to edit the category in which you posted something. I would think all you could do is repost the discussion/question in the appropriate forum.

That’s not a good idea. It only means you’re starting the discussion all over. You can only repost one message at a time for a discussion. Replies are separate. I don’t want to have to start the discussion all over again. Nobody would be willing to repost a reply in any discussion (and I’m not naming any exceptions).

I also think that's a no answer. However you can turn off the commenting for that post and I believe lock it too. Then maybe wait a few days and start it in the right place. I don't think that would cause any problems for anyone. I've seen some posts started in the strangest topics, I often wonder what the heck were they thinking putting it here?!!! I never really thought about that maybe it was an accident. I guess because usually it's from a newbie and I realize they just haven't got it figured out yet. Anyway, I'm sure it's no big deal, I don't think admin has much time to police the forums lol.

   Yeah I wouldn't worry about it, or just lock the topic.  In the future just make sure your starting post is where you want it to be.
