Oh, gnats!

Just a note to remind you that you can get rid of gnats if they're starting to come around now. Put some cider vinegar in a small dish and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

Poke some holes in the wrap and the gnats climb in to get to the vinegar but they can't crawl back out. Works like a charm. They do drown, of course, so . . .

. . . please don't report me to the insect violence police! :silly:

I use apple cider vinegar for gnats but I don't use the plastic wrap.  I just put out a cup of it and they go to it and end up floating in it.

I think down the road i just may try this.I work in a booth and we have shrubbery around it and if you open the door when its warm out just for a sec they fly in booth.Quite annoying. So if i take the advice and put the cup or dish on the counter away from me maybe i will see results.

Then again i may have a change of heart.

“GO TO the ant, you lazy one,” wrote King Solomon, “see its ways and become wise.” What can a lazy person—or any person for that matter—learn from an ant? Solomon continued: “Although it has no commander, officer or ruler, it prepares its food even in the summer; it has gathered its food supplies even in the harvest.”—Proverbs 6:6-8.

I wonder if they go to heaven when they die?

To the OP: nice recommendation. I recently moved to the South, and the number of gnats around here are absolutely astounding (and frustrating). I am going to use your recommendation immediately!

A bowl of water with dish soap and a light over it works on fleas too.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try. The gnats are bad at my house because we live in the Country. :)

This sounds simple! So economical. The smell of vinegar? Will get rid of gnats? O.K. Will pass this along. No additional way expensive measures are needed, like an exterminator. This is something that person should be able to afford.

Unless the gnats are in a position or location that a dish of vinegar might not align with very well.
