Charles Krauthammer letter to Fox News
« on: June 08, 2018, 10:15:28 am »
Sadly, he will not be back to Fox. Last year, he went for a routine surgery but had complications but stayed upbeat and kept the station updated on his treatment and rehab. Today, he stated in a letter that he had cancer and that was what his treatment was for and he was doing great and looking forward to coming back.

Today, he wrote that his latest exam has shown that his cancer came back and it's an aggressive  type. His doctors tell him he only has weeks to live so he wrote the letter to let everyone know that he has no regrets in his life and said goodbye, he will keep everyone updated as long as he can.

For those that don't know him, he has an impressive life. He has many awards through the years even though he was a quadriplegic from breaking his neck in a swimming pool accident in his early 20s, but still went on to to live a normal life.

So sad that someone who was so intelligent and made many a contribution to the world will no longer do so. I wonder how many people would be as upbeat as him when learning this type of diagnosis. Yet, he had no complaints and was still upbeat.   :( :( :'( :'(

I only watched him for less than a year, before he left for medical reasons. I was surprised to find out he was quadriplegic, you couldn't tell, only that he inhaled deeply when he spoke - he finished med school at Harvard even after being paralyzed.   He was SO articulate & smart, & was very much an independent who could go to the left or right depending on what he was talking about. A truly remarkable & inspiring man... He will be missed.

I've been in awe of Mr. Krauthammer since watching his guest appearances on FOX.  I don't know that I can add much more to what has been posted about him here.  I had noticed he wasn't on FOX much anymore, however, I hadn't been aware of his routine surgery.  He has such a reserve manner about him and given the obstacles he overcame early in life his letter serves as a reminder to everyone that life is, indeed, worth living.

Krauthammer was usually the voice of moderation when he appeared on FOX News with Bill O'Reilly when he was still on the air (although I often agreed with the points O'Reilly made anyway). I had always though he seemed kind of stiff in his delivery and watched for several years before I found out that he was a quadriplegic. Then it made sense that you never saw him making hand gestures to emphasize his verbal points like everyone else on TV.

Echo the above sentiments - he is a good guy.

I liked that he could give his opinions that were so very well thought out, you never really knew what side of the political spectrum he was on.   Beautiful goodbye letter.

I have had great respect for Charles for many years.

Amazing man. He still managed to have a beautiful family, be a trusted commentator, have a sense of humor, and excellent writer after his horrible accident in the prime of his life.

His wife is amazing also.

I cried a bit when I heard them read his letter.  He will be missed.
