I think they should be kept separate and yes as a former girl scout leader they do earn badges and a husband that was very active in the boy scouts  both very great organizations

Because their has been a drop in the membership, the Boy Scouts will now allow girls to join, and they will be changing their name too. The Girl Scouts don't like this.

What do you think about them allowing girls to join the Boy Scouts?

They are not allowing girls to join because there is a drop in the membership. They are allowing girls to join because they do not have the guts or backbone to stand up to a bunch of girls who want to be boys and tell them they need to join the girl scouts. I want to think this country cannot get any more screwed up but every time I have that thought something else like this makes the news.

They are allowing girls to join because girls want the same opportunities to earn the badges that the boys earn and girls want the opportunity to earn Eagle Scout.   Girls will have their own troops in The Scouts and boys will have their own troops in The Scouts.    For me, having a backbone is standing up for what you believe.  Girls deserve a chance to earn Eagle Scout, it looks great on college applications.   I will say it again, the girls and boys will be in separate troops.

The girls and boys already have separate troops. It is called the GIRL SCOUTS and the BOY SCOUTS.  You are wrong.  The wanna be boy girls are wanting to join the BOY SCOUTS and be a boy. If God wanted you to be a boy then you would have been born a boy and not a girl.

I don't think they are mixing the two. The boys and girls will be separate. What I understand is that girls will now have the same opportunity to earn the same merit badges as boys and even have the distinction of being Eagle Scouts. We'll see how this develops further down the line.

What I don't understand about this explanation (but thank you for it) is if that is truly the case, why couldn't the girl scouts simply add this structure to their existing organization?

Why not just turn the whole thing in to the Scouts and let everyone join...  I like the sign that reads JFK put a man on the moon .. and Obama put a man in the women's bathroom ! Enough already with...  you have to please everyone,  I love the movie Dances With Wolves , There are naked butts, flags and killings of white people and  natives and the killing of animals for sport not food..  that i'm sure make people angry, wonder if they will ban that movie someday !  People have gone goofy!

It is fine by me. I think both of them are pointless. I really don't understand the purpose of either one in the long run and I was a boy scout too. I remember before that I was a cub scout and a women ran it. So then why not let the girl scouts join the boys.

Because it is wrong. They need to join the GIRL SCOUTS. If you are going to allow this then go with the letting men use women's bathrooms.  I mean what could possibly go wrong with that? Oh women being videoed, having their pic taken, assaulted, and the list goes on. And all of these things have happened. SO I guess women need to carry a gun and when you encounter a man in the restroom with you just shoot him and say you felt threatened.

Yes, my nephew was a cub scout and yeah there were women leaders.  WHY? Because MEN are too lazy to do it!

I feet that the girl scouts should have added what they liked about the boy scouts to their own group instead of changing the boy scout's name and enrollment. I don't feel that it's fair to turn boy scouts into scouts bsa unless theres no more girl scouts and their combing their name.

It's basically because of the bizarre "gender identity" rules kids are being taught at an early age. Where you can decide what gender you want to be, before you even reach puberty. It's disgusting.
