family that disagrees with everything

These family members are very opinionated. I have someone in my family just like that. So I just ignore them completely

I have sister like that, not only will she disagree on things she will change  whatever I say around to make me look bad, or she just  out and out lies about  things. She would  rather tell me a lie then to tell me the truth and of course change that to look good. I just ignore  most of it  But like I tell my husband when something happens to my  stepfather I will never have to  talk or see her again if I want.

I have some family members that are also like that.  I have unfriend a couple of them because it got so bad and the others I just ignore as I don't associate with them that often and when I do we are just cordial to each other.

I think I'd keep my mouth shut most of the time.  It's very frustrating constantly having disagreements.  To disagree is one thing but often there is a level of arrogance of "I'm right and your opinion is wrong and for that your opinion is intelligent and I'm superior because I'm right."  People of that sort annoy me and I avoid as much as possible.  And when I can't.. I've learned to just keep quiet.

Might sound very strange, but i'd give anything to have a family member even to bicker with, I've been without even a cousin for over 10 years, and it's really hard during the holidays !! 

  I have several family members I have tried to give away, but they keep coming back.    Sorry, I just cannot imagine having no one to talk to about family history and stuff.  If you want we would be happy to have you join us for everything  Just PM.

       Respect each other...including boundaries.

I have a sister like that what i do is to ignore them and keep doing what your doing.

Doesn't that happen in all families? It happens in my family-the rest of us just ignore that individual when they see no one really cares about their opinion.

I just ignore that person and do what I think is best for me; like it or not.

Unless they start making offensive comments, I would just ignore them and not respond.

I haven't had this problem with a sibling, but my mother is very open to sharing her opinion on everything and she thinks that she is always right and everyone else is wrong.
