What was your favorite toy growing up?
« on: December 13, 2017, 05:23:44 am »
Feeling a bit nostalgic this morning---Thinking back to when you were young, what was your favorite toy as a child?  Mine was my Easy Bake Oven and Baby Tender Love.

I LOVED horses when I was a kid!  I had a black and white plastic horse that I "galloped" all over the floor and couches, etc.

I was Thrilled when I got Thunderbolt, the palomino horse that the Western doll Johnny West rode.  I also have Poncho and Thundercolt as well as Jane West.

My Green Giant toy semi-truck.  My brothers each got one for Christmas, and mother had the wisdom and understanding of her little girl and got me one too.

I had the original breyer horses. They were the absolute best, this was back in the day where toys were actually made well and supposed to last. They were beautiful! My oldest sister had some and I got to play with hers. Then my parents started getting me my own. They had real leather halters, saddles, bales of real hay, etc. Not like the plastic crap you get today. We had a real wood stable. I loved toys back then, they weren't like todays' toys. They forced you to use your imagination. those horses opened up worlds for me.

Transformers. I still like them a bit. I just watched the movie from 1986 the other day. I had most of the original Transformers. I keep forgetting they made all those new movies.

Chutes and ladders.  My brother would draw the game board for us and we would play for hours during the war while growing up in Middle East.

I used to absolutely LOVE Legos. I still do. Coincidentally, I was in the store a few days ago and saw several of them. Needless to say, I was so tempted to purchase a box. Definitely going to take a trip to Legoland one of these days.

I really can't remember a favorite toy, but I do remember my Tiny Tears doll. She would cry real tears and wet her diaper. That is, if you filled her up with water first.

I thought that was fantastic!  :silly:

I loved the Lite-Brite! I thought it was so cool to make a design and then light it up in a dark room. Those where the days!

Has to a doll that was called Betsy and she would wet when you gave her a bottle.  However, my younger sister wanted the doll too and fed it chocolate milk with ruined the clothes she came with and then cut off her hair.   Hate to say this but she was selfish back then and still is.
