How important is beauty in your daily life?
« on: March 01, 2018, 11:33:43 am »
The cosmetic industry brings in billions a year. Do you spend a lot of money trying to enhance your features or do you just shower and go natural? As a female, I usually wear make up and spend about 1 hour getting ready. I love to look presentable because we never know who we may meet when we are out.

I think its important that we care the way we look etc.I know if i get a compliment on how i look its nice to hear it and i am sure many of you would agree.

But i also think we should do it in moderation and self control and not become obsessed by it just like some go to the extreme with eating, drinking, exercising etc.

I am one for just showering and going natural and have always been that way. I don't like the feel of makeup on my face, never colored my hair or permed it. I am 74 and most people think I am a lot younger. In fact most people think I am the youngest of my family when I am the oldest and I think it is because I have never messed with nature. I am also luck to have never had  acne or much in the way of body hair, so I rarely have to shave my legs even.  I was blessed.

I don't wear makeup; used to wear mascara and eye shadow but developed an allergy to it I guess.  My eyelids would itch and swell so I just quite wearing it.  My complexion has always been pretty good so the only thing I put on my face is Oil of Olay original moisturizer.  I told my husband when I started having trouble wearing eye stuff that if he ever got tired of looking at plain old me to let me know and I'd reconsider and see if could find different kind that wouldn't cause a problem.  So far he hasn't said anything lol.  (think he's too sweet to)

Use a daytime and nighttime  moisturizer but I also use makeup during the week when going to work. A little blush, eyeliner and mascara.  But all natural on the weekends unless it a special occasion or going to dinner

I use a daily moisturizer on my face as it is dry. I usually apply mascara and eye liner when running errands, etc. I apply full makeup when going somewhere nice.

I like looking nice all the time.  Beauty is the in the eye of the beholder.  It's sad that women and men select their partners by what the face and body looks like.  Beauty doesn't last.  Having a kind and good heart is forever.
