I don't know what type of area you live in, but it really doesn't matter.  This type of thing could happen anywhere these days. 

It is not the best of neighborhoods. Houses are right on top of each other and have no front yards to speak of - right on the street and very small back yards. I can cut my back lawn in under five minutes with a manual push mower.  (I suppose some people might consider that a good thing). There has been drug activity in a house down the street from time to time and a man got beat up pretty badly right across the street several years ago by a bunch of teenage kids in a mob mentality gang thing.  http://www.sanduskyregister.com/story/201107180007


It's a medium density neighborhood where house values are cheap and you don't know your neighbors very well - although some are friendly when you pass them on the street. We are hoping to get out of the neighborhood in a few years if finances fall into place the right way.  In the meanwhile, I just keep singing the School House Rock song to myself: "Elbow room, elbow room, got to got to get us some elbow room"
