Another suicide in Rock n Roll, I always thought making music or listening to music is supposed to get rid of the demons

I don't think anything ever gets rid of demons, you learn to live with them or you don't. I think he held out for as long as he could. I've been thinking about Chester a lot. Been a fan of the band since I was 13. If there's one thing he was able to help a lot of people through their depression, he was able to put it into words. I'm grateful for that.

You make a good point, maybe I was just upset and sad.  Chris cornell was one of my all time favorites, and Chester was damn good too.  And I had a friend commit suicide before Christmas so its just been a lot to handle lately.

Completely understandable. Suicide is definitely something that affects a lot of people. You can't help but feel a wide range of emotions.

We need to fight the drugs, they kill people one way or another.

I was so sad when I found out he died :( I still am. It's so heart-breaking when someone commits suicide, especially someone as amazing as him. He made amazing music and will never be forgotten. It makes me think how there really needs to be something done about all the suicides that happen. I don't know what the answer is but surely there must be something we can do. I feel strongly about this because I struggle with anxiety myself.

So sad that Rock 'n' Roll produces so many suicides.  Honestly, I think more so than any other genre.  I'm just so heartbroken that Chester and right before him Chris Cornell, thought there was no better way than to end their life.  It's like they felt they had no where to turn.  I would have believed as famous as they were, they would've had the strength to reach out to someone.  It's very lonely at the top, but depression kills no matter where you are on the ladder.  I will certainly celebrate his life by continuing to listen to my Linkin Park albums with the belief his spirit has found peace wherever it now resides.

Hello :) :D

I'm so saddened by Chester's death. It came as a surprise when I heard my boyfriend talking about his death. I loved listening to their music it help calm me down. I knew nothing about Chester's demons, unfortunately the unknown could always kill us. I feel bad for all his children, I myself grew up without a father and it wasn't always easy. I hope he is finally at peace and all his pain are gone. :rose:

I was legitimately shocked to learn about the passing of Chester Bennington. I am a huge fan of Linkin Park, and so his death was particularly crushing to me. Ironically (or not), his friend Chris Cornell killed himself a few months prior, and it is speculated that Bennington was influenced to take his life because of Cornell's own death. May they both rest in paradise. :(
