Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
« on: June 05, 2017, 10:01:13 pm »
I went to the Ohio State University Hand Clinic today and found out my Left and dominant hand has moderate nerve damage due to Carpal Tunnel. I am having carpal tunnel release surgery next Thursday. I cannot wait to get it done and hope it helps my hand. I am tired of the pain, tingling and dropping things lol

Does anyone else have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

I don't have Carpal Tunnel but do have tendinitis. No surgery yet. I just try to take care of it buy not doing things that aggravate.

I have. I had surgery in 2012, had to have it again in 2013, in the right hand, a friend of mine had it last Friday in her left hand, she came to church with a bandage on her hand, she was supposed to have a sling to rest the hand in, I am still having more problems with the right hand now then ever before. Can't hold even a pen in that hand like writing, it will hurt, can't open up tops of things with caps, i have a brace that was given to me after surgery to put on when i have pain in that hand, like when i type I have to put it on. Some people say it helps them, but it didn't me.

6 years ago I had a carpal tunnel & tendonitis flare up at the same time.  3 shots of cortizone in my elbow convinced me to quit my job.  For 3 years I avoided repetition.  Swelled nodules in my wrist went down.  I went back into the field of what I love... now I ice when I'm doing more than I should.  Wear a brace whenever possible and take 3 Naproxen before every shift.

I have had minor problems for years, but I will revert to self-remedies as long as I can before I take the risk of surgery. I have heard too many cases where it made it worse.

I have been having pain in my left arm and it is not heart related, possibly tendonitis or bursitis. Am still waiting for some tests

Yes I have it in my right arm and hand and have had it for many years. I decided against having surgery and only use
a brace I bought at CVS which helps a lot when the tingling and discomfort strike.

I've been having left wrist & hand issues for over a year now, but don't see doctor regularly and it wasn't a serious hindrance for me so I just let it go.  I finally went to doctor yesterday morning for a routine checkup (required for him to renew my standard prescriptions) so I told him about it then.  He thinks that it is probably just tendonitis.

My wife has been having wrist problems for several months and has been self medicating with OTC and essential oils.  She saw doctor about it a few weeks ago and had a nerve test scheduled for this morning. He confirmed that hers is carpal tunnel.  We are waiting to find out what corrective treatment is advised.
