There was an amber alert on that 15 year old girl who was abducted by a teacher, right?
Serious situation. Sure its a minor annoyance, but there are serious cases and yeah you may think that running away with their boyfriend isn't a big deal but to the parents it is. Imagine that were your child.

I don't mind the amber alerts so much as I do the fact that they'll send them to my phone with just the car they're looking for.  Nothing about why, or what child or even what the child looks like.  That drives me nuts.

She was not kidnapped.  She went with him willingly.  She was in a relationship with him.  That is what the OP was getting at.  Although I don't find it as offensive and aggravating as the OP does.  But the point is this girl was not kidnapped.

I have never seen one with just the car description and not a description of the kid that is missing.  As for when they give an amber alert for a kid and no car description - have you ever thought that maybe they do not have this information?
