I'm going to be controversial and say neither one.  For my money I'll take Hanley Ramirez over either of them.  He plays the more difficult position, hits for average, power, and can steal 50 bases if he's asked to.

Pujols since I am a Missouri native. I also respect his work off the field with special needs kids.

As a Yankees fan, I want to say A-Rod. But, using my head and thinking strictly as a baseball fan... as long as Pujols remains playing cleanly, stays healthy, and nothing comes up about any illegal performance enhancing drug usage in his past, it will have to be Pujols. But there are some big ifs there when you look at the rampant use in the game of steroids the last 15 or so years, and that there still isn;t any HGH testing.

If he is caught doping in the future, or something comes out about him from the past, then it would definitely be A-Rod. A-Rod in his prime, and even right up until he got hurt this year, was a 5-tool player, and really was/is a phenomenal player. The only knock would be his seeming to choke in a big spot in the playoffs to this point.

It's a real shame he tainted his legacy by doping for those 3 years, if indeed it was just three years as he said.  :angry7:

A-Rod can't be the best player in baseball if he isn't even the best player on his team.
