as children in school we were encouraged to be on stage.
most schools held a Spring Festival show in the gym.
It gave us children a sense of pride and confidence.
I came from a big city.
I guess it depends on what state you're from and whether or not you live[d] in the countryside with lots of farm land or not.
People who live in the countryside learn more about the land, soil, animals, etc....
