Can't Sleep
« on: February 26, 2017, 07:45:12 pm »
I wish I did not have trouble falling asleep all the time. Especially during the week when I have to work. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, or what I do during the day, it is rare that I fall asleep at night. I just can not turn my brain off.

I can sure feel what you're saying about sleep, I can't  sleep or get woke up by the cars shining lights into my house as they use my drive way for a turn around because I live at a dead end road. When I moved here all was peaceful till a micro brewing pub and grill moved in 3 doors down and life as I knew it has changed and the guy that owns it cares less about us as neighbors. Top it off the Eagles in the area are hanging around and there is a month long deal in Town to promote our Eagle center. I had 224 cars turn around in one weekend and it drives my dog nuts as my house is all windows, i live on the mississippi river with a million dollar view.  I put a old garden hose on my drive way that works in the summer people are not running over the hose !!  Hose is a joke to keep them off . But in the winter the hose  don't work the snow is a dead give away, who waters the lawn in winter  :) :) also the snow plow would push it away.  People are nuts out here to see the birds  I also get woke up by Idiots walking threw my yard at dawn with cameras! Signs do not work   >:( >:(  they just look the other way and if you dare tell them to get out they swear and tell me to get screwed! People now days are scary!

I often have trouble sleeping too. If you can buy some melatonin tablets, that helps me a lot. (Tablets are better than capsules because I often just break off a tiny piece because I don't need a whole dose, so sleep is a little easier but I'm not a zombie the next day.)

I have the same problem as well.  Its like my mind wants to wander and think at night rather than letting me fall asleep.  I don't want to take a sleep aid for feel I'll become too dependent on it.  Sometimes what helps me sleep is soft music like classical or instrumental pieces.

You just need to chug a few beers and you'll be all set in an hour...

Honestly I do not believe in using drugs to help me asleep, what i usually do is turn on a smooth quiet song i love and sing along till I fall asleep. It works for me, it might work for you too.

Sometimes can't get a good night's rest. I get up almost the same time every night no matter what I go to bed...sucks when I get to bed at 1a and wake up at 6a.
