Hey mrrangerrick are you out of your mind You going to have police stop a 6 year old kid and write citations for bad bike riding.  The consequences for bad bicycle riding unfortunately is accidents but making them get license plates doesn't prevent that.  I think you really mean getting a license or permit to ride one don't you, yeah.  Well it is not a motorized vehicle and police have enough trouble enforcing those laws, what's next you want license plates for skateboards Think dude think.

While we do share the road with them, I think it may be a little extreme to require they purchase licenses/plates, and the like. However, I wish they would have an alternate path to ride. It's bad enough I have to share the road with motorcycles. But bicycles are more common for obvious reasons. I hate having to drive slower or change lanes so that I do not hit them...as if I do not have other cars, traffic lights, construction sites, and the like to worry about.

I don't think it is necessary to license bicycles. I feel like there has to be a limit on what we regulate and collect money on. That being said, I believe a license is required in my town.

I remember having to get a license for my bike every year when I was a kid. They didn't cost anything but we had to have one or else we couldn't ride the bikes. There would be a fine for not having a license. Don't know if it still is the law today.

We were also required to study and were tested on the rules of the road. We would be ticketed if we were caught disobeying the rules.

They should have to have some kind of insurance, I hate to get behind a bike or moped
