I live in a small apartment complex.  We have a table in the laundry room to put food/clothes or anything else that someone else might need.
There is also a bulletin board where you can leave a note, if there is a specific need, or if you have something that you want to give away or sell.

I play sports with the kids I even take a few of them to the park an play an cause a lot of them don't have dads around here so I'm kind of a big brother type to them
