I walk everywhere I can walk which is anywhere within a 3 mile radius of my home. I stopped driving locally years ago when I decided to get the exercise instead. So yes, I walk to stores all the time. I am lucky in that the local library, post office, drug store and bank are all within a couple miles from my house.

Absolutely.  I no longer have a vehicle and I only live a couple of blocks away from my grocery store.  I also have my own cart so I can buy a lot of things when I need them.  My cart makes it easier to buy large items like a watermelon or bottled water.

Sometimes, I have a coupon where I get $5 off if I spend $55.  When that happens, I load up my cart.
Have a great day!

I don't live close enough to anything to walk.  The only place near is a gas station, and that wouldn'tdo any good!  LOL

Very funny.... walking to get gas. Hope no one runs into a problem like that!

Yes, absolutely, if there is an area for pedestrians.

If you have to fight traffic and cross busy intersections, then no.  >:(

I used to live where I could walk to the store, but now I don't.

:fish:

I completely understand. I know what you are saying because there are stores before you reach an intersection in my area but it is still further away than you would expect it to be. Once you start walking you almost regret the decision to walk because it seemed closer to begin with. Anyhow yeah I won't walk to the stores passing the intersection.

would love it if there were stores in walking distance to me.  we are about 10 miles from the closest big store now, would much rather walk if I could than having to drive.

If it wasn't so darn hot i would like to walk to the store, but  it is staying 100 degrees and right now feels like 103,  Most anything i buy from our local store always need to be in the icebox . so walking about 35 minutes in this heat and not good for you. Then if we wait until dusk the mosquitos are really bad. So right now it is darned if i do and darned if i don't.

I do walk to a couple stores in our town that are close by, but only to pick up one or two things.  I don't walk to do my weekly grocery shopping...too heavy to walk home.

I would if it were close enough. But I live in Florida, so it is just too hot to walk anywhere in the summer here, which is most of the year. LOL

Something appeals to me about walking to the market to get that day's dinner, but I almost never end up doing it even though I live like a 5 minute walk from mine, it's just too hot most of the year.

Of course!  But, not late at night alone!  It is too dangerous out there for a woman alone!
