No then why not legalize cocaine, heroine, and all the other life killers and destroyers. They are all wrong, and legalizing one only promotes them all on some level.

A) There is not a single documented death caused by use of marijuana.  If you want to use examples of people getting killed in the "marijuana drug game," go ahead, but those occur more because it's illegal than they would if it were legal.  Frankly I don't think people kill each other over marijuana that much.  There's plenty to go around.  It doesn't have the effects of "I MUST HAVE MY FIX EVEN IF THAT MEANS MURDERING SOMEONE."  The desperation is not there for marijuana.

B)  There are zero legitimately documented studies that show any negative long term health effects of marijuana use (this includes physical addiction).

C)  Usage of cocaine, heroine, meth, and other hard line drugs are guaranteed to lead to deaths.  They are physically and psychologically addictive, unlike marijuana.  They are illegal for good reason -- that reason being that it is basically inevitable for hard drug usage not to lead to deaths.  The same rule does not apply to marijuana; if it did, we should outlaw every single prescription drug, even those that aren't physically addictive.

D)  Legalizing marijuana does not inherently mean we should legalize everything.  All drugs are NOT equal.  All drugs do NOT have the same effects.  All drugs do NOT have drastic health side effects and gross effects on society.

E)  It being illegal causes much more harm than legalizing it would.

I can't comprehend why people say these things.  So vague and lacking in thought (or lacking in content...if you have something to say, take a few minutes to write it out.  If you don't want to write it out, then why say anything and make your opinion vague and look unfounded in any logic?)

How would it be abused if marijuana were made legal?  What does "take it to a whole other level" mean?

....what? You mean like people would start taking new stronger drugs and then defend those? No. That would not happen. It's like saying if you start drinking beer, you'll become a heroin addict. People tend to put mj on the same level as hardcore life-threatening narcotics. Things like fox news or religious extremists roar the "DANGERS OF MARIJUANA" and use scare tactics to make people believe these things. I personally put them on the same level as cigs and alcohol.

I do think they should legalize it with similar restrictions like cigs and alcohol--
a.) Cannot smoke in public places (like drinking alcohol)
b.) Cannot smoke in establishments (like cig laws in Illinois)
c.) Cannot smoke while operating a vehicle/machinery/etc. (alcohol)
If cops would find you under the effects, you get a ticket/backseat-to-holding cell. (alcohol)

People, do me a favor and do some research on the subject. When I was a teen I was TOTALLY against it because of what I had been told by tv/school/naive older folks. You'd be surprised what facts you'll find when you turn all that BS off and read about it yourself. Granted it's not all positive on the scale, but you'd really find yourself thinking differently!
