Anyone else don't answer their phone?

I never answer the phone unless it is my wife, kids or parents. I figure if anyone else is interested they will leave a voice mail that I can review at a later point to determine if it was a necessary call.  I work in compliance during the day and do a lot of investigative work. I check the phone number (if they haven't left a message) through open source research on the internet and report the number if it is a telemarketer. I also check to see if they have done business with my daytime company and then shift there information to authorities within the company responsible for closing their access to our services under the pretense of complaints from other customers. Telemarketers, door-to-door sales people/political pushers/religious groups all get dealt with-especially if they are invading my privacy at home-our neighborhood does not allow these activities. We pay extra in HOA's for legal fees geared towards those that think they have the right.

If I don't recognize the number I let it go to voicemail.

If I don't recognize the phone number, I don't answer my phone.  I don't want to talk to sales people or fill out a survey on the phone.

I'm the same way. There are too many telemarketers despite being on the do not call list so I let my phone go to voicemail for numbers I don't know. If it's important the person will leave a message or text me.

Yep !!  I only answer when i know the number and even then i may not answer.
