is he looking for a place to work on the car/truck etc?

Why not split it off, if you have enough yard.

If he is worried about the care of it, volunteer to do all the yard work.

Grass is refreshing, it is colorful, it is soft under bare feet, kids can play safer.

Hope you find a good and happy compromise with you both winning.

my husband wants to do our yard with gravel but i like grass better what are your yards like

I can't stand grass OR gravel (but that just might be ME coming from the "concrete jungle").  We've got gravel and all of our plants are "desert plants" that need no watering.  Living in the desert, these are the only plants that make sense, not to mention saves water.

I love grass. Luckily for me I don't have to mow it.

Grass and it takes me an hour to cut it but I like the exercise and seeing how nice it looks after it's done.  Hubby wants to get a riding lawnmower but I'm not ready for that yet.  When it's nice, I can stay out in the yard for hours.

If your not in a drought state, it's grass, but if your in a drought state, it's drought resistant plants.
