Anyone's Anti-Malware messing up taking surveys?
« on: March 15, 2016, 10:37:22 am »
I have a well-known anti-malware premium program, that I bought almost a year ago.

It has worked very well, and I was figuring on buying another year of protection with it.

Suddenly, since the last update this morning, it is blocking me from taking any survey, and these companies (most anyway) I have been with a long time.

They have an option that they can exclude links, but it is not the website, but what the website uses for the surveys.

I can't take any today.

I did send them an email just now. Hope they get back to me.

Frrrrrrustrating.  It has been great, but this may be goodbye to a beautiful friendship.

Any one have a similar problem, or have a solution?

Thanks....

Why don't you see if your particular brand of anti-virus has a FORUM where you can post your question.  You more than likely can even search on that forum to see if others are having the same problem as you.  You can also do a search in Google, or your choice of search engine to see if anything comes up.  Good luck, I hope you get it squared away.

Yes thank you BlackSheepNY. That is what I did, and got great support. The company has received many reports like this,  and is working on a fix.

Meanwhile,  they told me how to work around it. Thank you for the encouragement.

Most likely it was blocked by it's url filter or ip filter... Some paid security programs have filters that block websites that are known for phishing, spam, malware, or dangerous list... I know Malwarebytes premium blocks shady ip addresses.. You can turn off the url or ip filter manually in the setting or put it in the approved website url (also known as whitelist)

Thank you, Liquidfire_43. That is what I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, pro.

I guess they have had lots of complaints about it, and were working on the problem.

I did learn how to turn it off during surveys, but lately have not needed it. Maybe they updated it.

Thanks again ...

I use two free antivirus programs AVG and Malwarebytes. I haven't had any problems and have been using them for years.

You can try the forum for your malware company...there's probably a place that you can add it to a safe file so that it wont block fc?
