My quiet Christmas
« on: December 26, 2015, 11:18:22 am »
I spent my Christmas very quietly. My family and I went to attend the midnight mass. After the mass we went home to sleep. In the morning the children received their gifts. In the afternoon we ate Christmas dinner together. Then we watched t.v. until it was time for bed.

Sometimes these are the best times. No distractions and being with the ones you love.

I agree, time spend with family can be one of the nicest times of all.  Just relaxing and having fun.  :present:

That's what a lot of people do the reality is not everything is parties and shopping.  Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus and it sounds like you remembered that as I did, but too many people have no clue what Christmas is about which is sad :(  Too much emphasis put on shopping :bad:

Life gets so hectic, it is sooo NICE to have those relaxing, quiet times with those you love.  Life needs MORE of those...

Sounds nice. Mine was like a whirlwind. People everywhere for days. I am tired but happy. I just have a big mess to clean up, but it can wait.

We had a small dinner the weekend before with my aunt and uncle since they weren't going to be there on Christmas. We opened our stuff on Christmas Eve and then my dad had to go work the night shift. Then I went and watched the Peanuts Christmas and some Christmas specials I got from Walmart. Aside from the dogs being noisy (which they always are) it was a pretty quiet night.

My husband and I stayed in as well.  Our kids went to there grandparents (A tradition for them) and for the first time he stayed home and didn't go to his Mom's. We slept in, had a filet Mignon, baked potato salad and home-style biscuits... took a nap woke up and had pumpkin pie.  Other than clicking on-line neither of us did much.  It was the best Christmas we had ever had together.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas to me and so very like ours.  Church, food and family - what else is needed to celebrate the holidays?  Well, there is always wine.
