I am assuming that a goldendoodle is a dog that is a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. I'll bet she's a big dog and I'll bet she is a great dog.  :)

I'm glad you've got a nice friend that's there for you through thick and thin.

However, I'm not really fond of the new crossbreed names they've come up with. They're pretty funny weird. I mean "goldendoodle?" ::)

To the person above ( that is not too fond of mixed breeds) I understand your concern. I used to be the same way,,,, In fact I had two husky mixed breeds and they were the worst dogs ever. I loved them but that breed is tough....... I love my Labrador retriever and actually just wanted a golden retriever and couldn't find one. So that's how we ended up with a goldendoodle. I am so proud we got her. She is SO smart and gentle and kind. I can certainly see why our local founder of Blessings Unleashed uses these and labradoodles for training to work with  autistic children. They are wonderful with these special needs children Two of my favorites.......special needs children and animals

Sorry for the mix-up, KarenWitty. I don't have a thing against mixed breeds.  8) I just think their names are silly. Didn't mean to offend.  :-X I too think it's wonderful that Blessings Unleashed are training them to work with autistic children. I never heard of them until now. Thanks for informing us.

My son has one and his two little girls (2 and 4) lay all over that dog and get lots of love from him. A little too big for me, but to each his own.

I occasionally have a litter of Aussie Doodles (Australian Shepherd dad and Poodle mom) and they are really happy affectionate puppies.

I'd love to know if their temperament is like the golden or a poodle.

All I know is my granddaughters (2 & 4) crawl all over theirs and sleep with him all snuggled up, so it must be pretty good.

Years ago a friend of mine bought a labradoodle.  Adorable well mannered dog.  All 5 of her boys had allergies and this particular breed was a blessing for there family to enjoy a furry friend with zero effects.  At the time mixed breeds were just unveiling.  They payed over $1000 for there LD.

I occasionally have Aussie Doodle puppies and they are really happy puppies.  People like the Poodle part because of allergies and Aussies are very gentle sweet dogs.

I have mixed feeling... I bred/showed Goldens for years and love the breed and then my best friend got a standard poodle....getting to know the both breeds I hate the thought of diluting them...but then some of the pure breds are showing more medical issues due to close relative breeding...so like I said I go back and forth. Bottom line I've had the honor of know a few Goldendoodles that were wonderful furry friends. Usually a pet is as good as the human friend's companionship has allowed it to be.
