laundry
« on: December 12, 2015, 05:55:09 am »
those of us who don't have our own washers and dryers know how it can be going to the laundry mat down the street.
I remember dragging my basket down a flight of stairs and down the street to the corner.
Most people do their laundry on Saturday morning, so it's a given fact that it'll be crowded.
I don't have that hassle nowadays.
I do live in an apartment building.
I do my laundry Saturday night. I have the laundry room to myself.
The rush to do wash is Saturday morning.

I know what you mean. Both my washer and dryer broke at about the same time a while ago and I have been going to the Laundromat to do my laundry. I actually kind of enjoy it though. For one thing, instead of doing one load at a time I can do three loads at once which saves a lot of time. Plus there are usually other people there so I can chat while doing the laundry which is fun too.

We had a few different times when our washer and dryer were out of service for a few weeks straight.  Going to the laundromat was a chore AND expensive.  I do NOT look forward to those times!

:) I remember it well. I used to travel a lot and therefore used the Laundromat when I was out of town. You do meet a lot of different people though.  :)

for years growing up we had to use the laundry mat ..always hated it!  that seems to be my favorite thing to have is our own washer/dryer now.  was always so worried about germs with so many people using public ones.

Oh yes I have had to use the laundry mats a lot. My apartment had  some there, but were not well taken care of and it was kind of dark and dingy. So I would travel across town to a nice bright clean one. Made friends with the lady who owned it and also those who worked there. After a bit I would help out in the food  service. Just to be buys. Met a lot of nice people while doing the laundry.

Laundry hassles? It is reason for which I am moving. I want my washer and dryer inside my house. So I can do my laundry at any time of the day.
