So, was Back to the Future correct again (there's also theories it predicted 9/11)? Will they win the WS this year and break the curse? They sure are making quite a run...

I watched the 9/11 Back to the Future video on the internet, but found it to be a bit of a stretch.  Our minds are always looking for connections where they shouldn't meaningfully exist.  Just chance.  However I will recant if the Cubs win the World Series.  That would be amazing.  :  )

I'm a Cardinal's fan so I can't actually root for the Cubs, but think it would be pretty funny if they won.

I'll admit, I'm rooting for the Cubs to win, solely to fulfill the Back To The Future II prophecy.

Have to agree it would be really cool if the Cubs won the World series.  It is crazy how 2015 seemed so far away in 1985.  I guess that's being in high school for you.

Unfortunately, even if the Cubs do win, the "prophecy" won't be entirely accurate... In the movie, the Cubs beat Miami to win the WS. However, the Marlins are the only Miami team, and they are in the same division as the Cubs so they won't play each other in the WS.

But it is neat to see how some of these SciFi predictions come true. I've actually been wanting to read Stand on Zanzibar as I've heard that its predictions for the 2010s are almost scary; in the book that was written in 1969, more cars are run on electric fuel cells with Honda (a major motorcycle manufacturer at the time) leading the industry yet Detroit is almost a ghost town because of the loss of its car manufacturing, tobacco is becoming almost regulated out of existence yet marijuana has been decriminalized, and all of this has occurred during the presidency of President Obomi. The Millions had an article that lists all of the fairly accurate predictions found in this book.

There wasn't a team in Miami when the movie was made, so I guess you could say they predicted that. Two out of three ain't bad?
