I had a baby caterpillar in my apartment yesterday.
I scooped him up with a jar lid and tossed him out the back door.

some spiders bite.
some species of ants bite too.
I felt something at my ankle when I was sitting outside.
I looked down and it was an ant. I shooed it away before the bite.

I hate spiders. When I was a kid, one dropped on me when I was going to the basement. I freaked out and ever since, I can't stand them. Funny, but I'm not afraid of "daddy long leggers." They don't bother me at all and we have lots of them, too.

For years, I feared them. Until we moved to this place. We have a lot of woods and spiders galore. in the spring and fall, they come inside. These are not your typical little guys, either. They are what my husband calls "wood spiders." They remind me of a tarantula with the "fur."

I no longer run from spiders but usually don't kill them UNLESS they're in the house. This year, they have been very aggressive and have built webs all over the porch. Reminds me of a Halloween decoration and I destroy the webs but they're back the next day. I've noticed that Daddy long letters are stuck in the webs, dead, and that upsets me. :(

This could be the creepiest thing to say, but when I first moved into my 3 bedroom apartment on the bottom floor I was asleep I hear something tip toeing across the floor. You could here the ego of tiny little steps. I didn't have much in my apartment yet. So when I woke there was a Spider big as my hand up on the bed post where I sleep I literally Screamed!! I had my boyfriend with me he killed it. That was the most Terrifying moment of my Life! My Apartment was near the woods too I reported this.

I never knew spiders could make noise until my other Altercation with Another Spider kinda Medium not as big as my hand. So I was sitting on the couch. That Spider came from up under the Chair, I Screamed jumped off the couch on to the Hard floor to get to the other couch I missed it. But it made an Eeeeeking!! Squeeking Noise.

You just don't know these days about spiders, some are very dangerous and if you do not know the differ in some spiders it can be deadly.  My brother in law got bite by one and they had to cut his hand open to get the posion out.

Why are people so freaked out by spiders?

I was in the kitchen yesterday, washing dishes when I heard a loud clatter out front.
I went to see what was happening.

There was a man and several young boys standing in my yard, looking up at the roof.
The man tossed a stick up towards the roof, and said he was trying to "get that spider."

I looked, and sure enough, there was a spider building its' web from my roof to the roof of the next apartment.

I asked the man why he wanted to kill it, and he said, "It's a spider!"

He couldn't understand why I didn't want it dead too.

So I guess there's another neighbor that thinks I'm weird.
I just don't see the need to kill something just because it's there.

WHY was he worried about a spider on YOUR roof?  Do you live in a duplex or house strip or apartment?  If it is YOUR house I would have run him off.  Along with his physco friends that felt the need to throw sticks at MY house.  Smh.

I don't particularly care for spiders but I am not going to run screaming if I see one.  I think that is foolishness.  But I do not want them crawling on me either.

His psycho friends were 8 to 10 year olds.  Kids.
Instead of running them off, I chose to teach them a little about spiders, and respect for living things.

The man was acting out of fear, and not thinking.

I live in an apartment complex.  The apartments are two-story townhouse apts, 5 to 6 in each building, with shared yards in front and back.

Well I had one crawling on my chest today and of course I screamed and slapped at it to get it off of me. It terrified me and I itched for atleast 2 hours after that. It was a decent sized black one.

I am deathly scared of spiders, big ones, little ones and medium ones. The only ones I'm not scared of are daddy long legs. I will definitely run away screaming when I see one. The only time I even get close enough to kill it is if there is no one else to kill it, and out of desperation I ahve to do it myself or I'll never be able to stay in the house!
