A Trip Down Memory Lane :)
« on: June 26, 2015, 06:53:24 pm »
Today we had a fun surprise!

My daughter and grandson met my sister/ husband and my Mom in the Iowa Great Lakes Area to spend the day together.

We stopped at Boji Bay Fun House Pavilion.  When we walked inside, we got the surprise of seeing the actual wood slide, rolling barrell, and Sugar Bowl that were saved from the old FUN HOUSE that used to be in Arnold's Park Amusement Park.

These fantastic "rides" have been in storage for years someplace.   This new Event Center/Pavilion has put them into the center of the building.  We had lots of laughs remembering the fun we had when these rides were functional in the original Fun House.

When we were kids we went to the FUN HOUSE - cost $0.50 each for the whole day!

The Sugar Bowl and Barrell are not functioning now; but the slide was available to go do!  WHEEE!!

I remember back in a day when I was in 5th grade our teacher would take her class on a picnic before school ends. We would all bring food. Now where iam  from they don't have school busses so when we went on picnics our teacher would line us up and we go on foot to nearby forest and set a big blanket on a nice open area and make sand witches and make fire sometime and explore the woods, which was so much fun.

It sounds like you had a lot of fun. We got to visit Lake Erie last year and had a good time but it was mostly windy and cold out.

It is so much fun to have a day like that with family, new and old memories.  Those are the times you all remember.
