I think that it should be legalized by the Federal government, and allow the individual states to decide whether they want to legalize it. I find it really hard to believe that the federal govt. still treats it as a class 1 controlled substance. For drugs to fall into that classification according to the 1970 Controlled Substance Act:
Quote from: Wikipedia
Schedule I substances are those that have the following findings:

       A. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
       B. The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
       C. There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.[27]
Even though marijuana doesn't really fit any of these criteria (yet schedule 1 drugs need to satisfy all requirements) Marijuana's potential for abuse is not as strong as other drugs in that a user may only have a psychological dependence for it; it has never been shown to elicit a physical dependence making it relatively easy for people to quit whenever they choose. There have been numerous studies as to the medicinal value of cannabis mostly in areas of pain relief, digestive issues, and spasms such as the muscle spasms of MS. It can be dispensed in forms that would allow for accurate measurements (eg MN allows medical marijuana in non-combustible forms in order to regulate the amounts given in pill or other forms); in fact there have been more studies that are looking at very specific cannaboids, their interaction with cannaboid receptors in the body, and how to accentuate the medicinal value of those chemicals while decreasing other side-effects. Despite all of this evidence, it is still considered a schedule 1 drug while cocaine is considered a schedule 2 drug meaning that in the eyes of the federal government, cocaine is safer than marijuana!

I think that anything the government tries to control can start to get ridiculous and unneeded, so no i dont think it should be illegal i wouldn't prefer it myself though.

Yes I think weed should be legal because it is nothing bad about it and it won't hurt you. Some people make it out to be bad, but in my opinion its not, it is harmless.

Um, well...Marijuana is legal in several states.  I live in Colorado and it hasn't really affected anything other than having to smell more marijuana at converts which is kind of pointless because the dispensaries sell so many edibles that are not as lethal to those around you.  I don't do marijuana, but think that marijuana is safer than alcohol and can be enjoyed in it's natural form whereas alcohol has to be processed. I think that legalizing marijuana in all of the states would kill sixty percent of the drug traffic coming over our borders.  Marijuana is taxed, in Colorado, at a very high rate which keeps the black market in business.  I believe in sin taxes. I think that anything that is bad for you should have a higher tax. I believe that ten bucks tax on a pack of cigarettes, six pack of beer, entrance to a gambling establishment or a gram of marijuana with eight dollars of that tax going back to help those that are messed up is fair.

Until government and law enforcement have a test for DWI/DUI for marijuana when stopping a vehicle for erratic driving, NO! They are a danger to other motorists, just like alcohol.

Those states that are legalizing it for public use without any thought of the problems were nuts to bow down to the drug crowd. They only thought about the revenue they'd be getting for the state, not the people it may hurt. Already, little children are overdosing on brownie-laced marijuana and that's definitely not good.

I do think if it helps those with a disabling disease like cancer pain, seizures, etc., that it should be regulated by a physician, no one else.
